Milanese by birth, Venetian by adoption!
“Cucina di Madame Barbara” is my natural evolution.
I have been passionate about cooking since I was a child, when together with my grandmother we would prepare fresh pasta and orecchiette.
Thanks to my origins (my mother is from Milan, whereas my father from Apulia) I have acquired and further developed my cooking experience, moving from simple research to achieving excellence, combining tradition and the respect for the ingredients.

Life and destiny brought me to Venice about 25 years ago.
In addition to its charm and its many beauties, Venice seduced me also with its food and –obviously- its wine, a key ingredient of the Venetian social life; here, in fact, an ombra with a friend is something one simply cannot refuse. I worked for many years in wine bars, restaurants and cichetterie, covering various roles, which have enabled me to learn some of the secrets of the job, which I happily share with those taking part in my cooking classes.

Cooking classes

If during you stay, between a visit to a museum and a gondola ride, you have the time and curiosity to learn how to make some of the dishes of the Venetian tradition –but not only-, I will open the door of my house, a corner of peace and silence located in a charming campiello in the neighbourhood of Dorsoduro.

Wine and Food Tours

I will lead you through a journey at the discovery of the wine and food of the territory, and of the culture and people that live here. I have designed a wine and food tour addressed to those willing to learn more about the cuisine of the Serenissima and the most evocative meeting places.
The tour starts in Rialto, the heart of the city, and continues stopping in the bacari and osterie that have kept the tradition and where Venetians can still be found enjoying a cicheto, chatting and drinking an ombra or a Spritz, the most iconic Venetian aperitif in the world.

Catering for events

An innovative idea for events.
Catering is a growing trend and is the best solution for small, formal or informal events with any number of participants. For example, the opening of a restaurant, the opening of an exhibition, a company event, a graduation or birthday party, or just a get-together with friends.
